  1. This was a great interview and illustrates that the WordPress community is lucky to have Matt at the helm. He is a sharp pragmatic individual that is definitely aware of his surroundings and is very thoughtful. I thought his answer about a marketplace of premium plugins was spot on. I’ve looked at both Joomla and Concrete5 and felt that users were nickel and dimed for basic functionality, but I don’t feel that way with WordPress and I am a big fan of some premium plugins, such as, Gravity Forms and the Event Calendar by Modern Tribe. Matt is looking at the bigger picture and thinking long term about what is best for the WordPress community which is it’s biggest strength.

BTW, I’m glad to see Brad and Dre continuing with their own podcasts. I was a fan of the Late Night podcasts. They have a good chemistry and are very knowledgeable.
